March 11, 2026 Public Information Office

Inflation in the province of Isabela fell by 0.3% in February 2026, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

PSA Isabela Chief Statistical Specialist Julius M. Emperador said Wednesday that the February rate was slower than –1.3% recorded in January 2026 but remained well below the 3.7% inflation rate posted in February 2025.

The average inflation rate from January to February 2026 stood at –0.8%.

The main driver of February’s inflation trend was housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, which recorded 4.7% inflation, led by a 31.9% increase in electricity prices.

The food and non-alcoholic beverages group also contributed to the trend, posting –2.6% inflation, with rice prices declining by 13.9%.

Emperador clarified that the impact of the Middle East crisis on fuel prices has not yet been reflected in the February data and may appear in the March inflation report.

Meanwhile, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) reported that the effects of suggested retail price (SRP) adjustments on basic commodities were not yet captured in February and are expected to be reflected in March.

DTI also assured the public that it continues to regularly monitor prices in markets and retail outlets to safeguard consumers. – Isabela PIO
