January 29, 2026 Public Information Office
Six towns in the province of Isabela were selected to benefit from the Philippine Community Resilience Project, a disaster resilience program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 02, based on their poverty incidence.

The selected towns include the coastal municipalities of Maconacon, Divilacan, Palanan, and Dinapigue, along with Santa Maria and San Pablo, according to DSWD Regional Director Lucia Suyu-Alan during a meeting with the Provincial Government of Isabela at the Provincial Capitol on Thursday.

The DSWD project will follow a community-driven development approach, in which people, especially the most vulnerable and marginalized, identify their own needs and priorities.
Santa Maria will receive a P70 million PCRP grant, while other municipalities will each be allocated P50 million.

The local government units (LGUs) will also provide counterpart funds and actively engage in planning and decision-making processes to ensure that the priority needs of their communities are effectively addressed.

Meanwhile, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member Hon. Angelica Reyes, representing Governor Rodito T. Albano, expressed strong support for the project, highlighting its goal to strengthen communities, empower barangays, and build resilience from the grassroots level. – Isabela PIO
